18 Favorite Organizing Tools for the Home

#1. Baskets and Bins

Baskets are the first must-have home organization tools. Bins and baskets are so versatile and you’ll find uses for them in every corner of your home. I use baskets to organize the closet, decorate the entryway, or corral clutter on the kitchen counter.

Clear plastic bins or wire baskets are beautiful and functional because they make it easy to see exactly what’s inside. I like using these types of baskets in the closet or pantry.

Decorative baskets are great for creating storage in a corner of the room or on the counter. Wicker baskets and woven rope baskets are beautiful options that will add style and functionality to any room.

#2. Charging Station

Tech is everywhere! Keeping chargers tidy in a central location is a helpful way to ease the stress of searching for chargers. A wireless charging station also offers a way to eliminate cords, making them one of my favorite organizing tools for the home.

#3. Cord Organizers

Wireless chargers are fantastic for items like phones and smartwatches. However, they aren’t always a viable option for clunky appliance cords in the kitchen or media cords in the office.

Cord organizing tools for the home can help hide unsightly cords and free up time you would have spent untangling cords. I prefer color-coded cord organizers because they can make it easier to identify which cord is for which device.

#4. Cookware Rack

Adding a cookware rack to your kitchen cabinets is an excellent way to tidy the inside of your cabinets and get rid of clutter on the counter. Plus, this tool makes it so much easier to organize my pots and pans keeping my kitchen tidy.

#5. Drawer Organizers

A great drawer organizer can help you use all the space in your drawers efficiently. I use adjustable drawer organizers to create extra space in my drawers and save time spent searching for things.

#6. Hanging Baskets

Clean off counters with hanging baskets. Baskets can hang from hooks or tension rods, freeing up space on the kitchen or bathroom counter.

Consider adding wall hanging fruit baskets to your kitchen or use wall mounted wire baskets in any room to add extra storage space.

#7. Hooks

Hooks can be used in virtually every room in your house! Here are some of my favorites:

#8. Jewelry Organizers

You might not think jewelry organizers are essential tools, but they are essential if you regularly wear them. These organizers can help you care for your items properly and clear away clutter by giving all your jewelry home.

#9. Label Maker

One of my favorite organizing tools for the home is a label maker. Label makers make it easy to identify what’s in a storage bin or container without needing to take items out. They can also be really helpful when you’re trying to remember where an item belongs.

#10. Lazy Susan

Adding a lazy susan to a corner cabinet can be a game changer in getting your kitchen organized.

It’s the perfect way to add organization to a pantry or shelf by making it easy to see what’s on the shelf without losing items in the recesses of the pantry.

#11. Makeup Storage

I understand the appeal of keeping your makeup all over the bathroom counter. It’s easy to see exactly what you have and access things as you get ready in the morning.

A makeup organizer can help free up some space on your bathroom counter and create a tidy space. Be sure to declutter your makeup to get rid of those you no longer need or use before organizing.

#12. Over-the-Door Pocket Shoe Organizer

Pocket shoe organizers can be a great catch-all for winter items in the mud room, storage for small toys in your child’s room, or as added storage in the pantry.

#12. Pegboard

They are not just a great way to organize tools in the garage, peg boards are ideal for craft rooms, kid spaces, and the home office too. Pegboard baskets in the laundry room are an easy way to access tools and create storage for all those lost socks.

#13. Shower Organizers

A list of organization items just wouldn’t be complete without mentioning shower organizers. Racks, baskets, and shelves in the shower help corral soaps and make things more accessible. Check out some of my favorites:

#14. Spice Rack

In the kitchen, a spice rack is another one of those essential home organizing products you’ll want to think about adding.

There are magnetic spice racks you can attach to the side of the fridge to make use of wasted space and free up space in cabinets. Pull out cabinet spice organizers can help to keep spices tidy in the cabinet and make it easy to see everything you have quickly.

#15. Storage Benches and Ottomans

Storage benches can provide a stylish way to organize the entryway in your home. Storage ottomans can add extra storage to a den or family room without creating clutter. Here are a few of my favorites:

#16. Stackable Organizers

Another easy way to get more storage is with stackable storage bins. These collapsible bins are great for storing items out of sight. Then, put them away in a closet or under a bed when you’re done.

Stackable organizers come in all shapes and sizes! They would well under the bathroom sink, in the fridge, and in just about every corner of your home.

#17. Foldable Storage Cubes

Foldable fabric storage cubes are great for all kinds of organizing needs. They make organizing children’s toys and closet spaces a breeze!

Plus, these storage cubes fold flat when they’re not in use, so they won’t take up much space. I like to keep a few in my entryway to quickly tidy living spaces before guests arrive. Pro tip: look for foldable storage cubes with reinforced bottoms and handles that will hold up to lots of use.

#18. Fridge & Freezer Bins

Getting your fridge and freezer organized can be a challenge, but it’s worth it. I save time on meal prep and spend less at the grocery store because I can easily find the items in my freezer and see what I need to replenish at the grocery store.

Fridge and freezer bins make it easy to reach items that may have previously fallen into no-mans-land at the back of the fridge too. These bins make cleaning out the fridge so much easier!
